TravelCard launched in 2014 after a successful Kickstarter campaign, built around a simple idea: a portable charger thin enough to actually carry. Most power banks back then were bulky bricks — fine in a backpack, useless in a wallet. Our Kickstarter backers helped us ship the first card-sized charger that year as one of the slimmest on the market, and more than a decade later, the TravelCard Plus is still built around the same belief: the best charger is the one you actually have on you when you need it.

We're a family-run business based in Rancho Mirage, California, and we've kept things small on purpose. Every order ships from our US team, and when you have a question, you reach a real person here in the States — not a chatbot, not an outsourced queue. That's been true since day one. A lot of what's gone right for us comes down to a pretty unglamorous principle: do right by the customer, every time. It's why Wirecutter has kept recommending us, and why so many of our customers come back when it's time to gift one to someone else.

What's next is more of what we love making. A MagSafe-compatible portable charger with foldable wall plug prongs is in development now, with a few other ideas taking shape behind it. We're excited about where things are headed.
